Nikki Erickson

I am thrilled for my first year coaching a club team. During my experience of coaching middle school I established my coaching philosophy which I look forward to expanding. I believe players need to work hard to improve their skills; purposeful practice has a positive effect on their play. I hold to the idea that every player is a child a God and therefore should be given the opportunity to learn the sport in a safe and loving environment. I am a firm believer that for girls to thrive, there needs to be a respect and understanding of everyone on the court. I set goals for practices, sets, and matches and inspire the girls to work until they surpass them. We will work on learning the fundamentals of volleyball and I will provide this in simple and clear instructions. I believe in encouraging my athletes to continually find the joy in the sport because I believe when girls are having fun playing the sport, they perform better. I hope to share with all future athletes first and foremost my love for Jesus and secondly, my love for volleyball.

I am a sophomore at Grand Canyon University majoring in Elementary education and minoring in Christian Studies. I am excited to be a second or third grade teacher after I graduate in December 2019.
